Las Trabajadoras del Hogar- a documentary film by Annalisa Iadicicco and Marlon Krieger, in conjunction with Artefacting
We are filming a documentary on child domestic workers in Peru. Our goal is to spread knowledge of the situation within Peru and internationally. We hope to break the existing belief system that using child laborers under 14 years old is acceptable, with this film we will address issues of social responsibility, circumstances leading to the situation and explain the dangers and negative impact that using children laborers has on the children, the community and the economy.
Facts:
Child Labor reaches 31.8% of the population under the age of 15
1.5 million live-in maids are sexually abused
Peru has the highest child labor rates in Latin America
We need YOUR support to finish this film. We will return to Peru in July to finish shooting. We have interviews and contacts, as well as connections to many past and current domestic workers who are willing to share their story. We are working with two incredible charities in Peru and are forming additional contacts. Now all we need is your support to get us there.
