Indigenous Peoples' Day replaces Columbus Day
Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day, officially designated as such in 55 cities, and in some cases, like in Los Angeles, officially replacing Columbus Day.
Today, I am thankful to have seen the conversations and actions changing in a positive direction over the last 5 years. There are still mountains to climb and rivers to swim upstream, but I am grateful the conversation has become national on many levels. Today my thoughts are with my friends fighting these battles in their every day.
Images below from various stories I have had the honor of working with Indigenous peoples in this country.
