A Darkness Visible: Afghanistan- Seamus Murphy

Over the years we've seen a lot of footage coming from Afghanistan, but I found Seamus's project to be truly enlightening because it covered so many years of work but also because of his powerful imagery and very sensitive humanistic approach. Starting with the Soviet war and ending in 2008, Seamus follows the events in Afghanistan and one family for over 15 years, showing the tragic passage of time through their family pictures. It will give you a better understanding for the Afghan people, culture and the turmoil they have seen.
Based on 14 trips to Afghanistan between 1994 and 2010, A Darkness Visible: Afghanistan is the work of photojournalist Seamus Murphy. His work chronicles a people caught time and again in political turmoil, struggling to find their way. See the project at http://mediastorm.com/publication/a-darkness-visible-afghanistan
